PACKAGED TOY ITEMS

DCA grades virtually all packaged die-cast vehicles under one of the following categories:
Modern and Vintage Categories
  • Commonly submitted and standard-size items are graded under our Modern and Vintage (produced pre-1990) Categories. If your item will fit in a Star Case then it will fall under one of these categories.

  • Modern Category is for those items produced 1990 and after.

  • Vintage Category is for those items produced before 1990.

  • Examples of Modern and Vintage Category items:
    Star Wars Diecast Vehicles, Hot Wheels Red Line, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
Custom Category
  • Un-commonly submitted or irregularly sized figures are graded under our Custom Category.

  • Virtually all sealed vehicles and related items are eligible for DCA grading fall under one of our custom tiers.

  • DCA also grades certain items which never came factory sealed, provided the items are in new and unused condition. DCA can also grade boxed items that are no longer factory sealed (i.e. the tape has been broken or come loose) as long as the boxed item has an interior sealed bubble and all the contents (paperwork) are stilled sealed in their bags. 

  • Examples of Custom Category items:
    Modern Star Wars Diecast, Corgi, Dinky, Matchbox Playsets
LOOSE TOY ITEMS
DCA does not currently grade loose vehicles.

DCA will NOT grade any item which exhibits the following:

  • Restoration (Example: Ink used to cover flaws, Resealed Bubble) DCA reserves the right to determine what constitutes restoration.
  • Glued limbs, parts and/ or accessories.
  • Holes large enough to allow the toy and/or accessories to be removed or replaced.
  • Reproduction Items ( Example: Toy, Accessories, and Packaging)
  • Incomplete Items (Missing necessary accessories)
  • Incorrect toy accessory combination
  • Resealed Packaging
  • Hand made pieces (Not mass produced)
  • Double Tapped Items
  • Extensive Damage
  • Repainted toys and/or accessories.
  • Not Factory Sealed (excludes items that were never factory sealed)
  • DCA reserves the right to refuse any item for any reason.
     
DCA WILL grade unsealed boxes if:

  • The item was never factory sealed, provided the items are in new and unused condition. DCA can also grade boxed items that are no longer factory sealed (i.e. the tape has been broken or come loose) as long as the boxed item has an interior sealed bubble and all the contents (paperwork) are stilled sealed in their bags.
